At one time, sometimes you feel helpless. You feel as if you couldn’t get up anymore. After a trial, another trial comes up unexpectedly. Demanding you to face it without your wish and your will. But trials are trials which every Muslim will be tested. When something happens, it is certainly for some good and for a purpose. When we say “there is good in this" (hikmah), it is not by mere words, but comes with our heart, and showing patience in the face of difficulties with heartfelt submission and gratitude.
Putting faith in this truth should inspire us with a better outlook, by which we feel grateful for everything that befalls us. In other words, a person will try to recognize the "good" in everything he hears, in every sight he sees, in every incident he experiences, in brief, in every moment of his life, and thereby, achieve a proper understanding of the meaning of this life. Making the right choice between those offered to him, expressed in the Qur'an as, "We guided him on the Way, whether he is thankful or unthankful" (Surah al-Insan: 3), man will, by God's Will, attain the the supreme end-result, that is, the eternal life in paradise.
Every event a person sees, and every noise he hears, are in ever instance part of a life that has been created for him as a unit. Whether major or insignificant, no event in the universe happens by coincidence. No flower either blooms or fades by chance. No man comes into existence or dies out of pure coincidence. No man becomes sick by mistake, and neither does his sickness develop in an uncontrolled manner. In each case, these occurrences are especially predestined by God, from the very moment they were created. Anything that exists, within the depths of the earth or the oceans, or the fall of a single leaf, all occur in compliance with destiny.
(Seeing Good in All - Harun Yahya)
Allah in advance, He has told us what will be tested. Fear, hunger, loss of life. And good news for those who are patient.
Sometimes when you face a failure, the lesson might be harsh but the lesson is learned. Life is full of lessons to be learned, right? We are defined not by how many times we are knocked down, but by how many times we get up. There is a saying goes; “When everything crumbles to the ground, the only thing you can do is pick up the pieces.”
You see, it is not possible to change the past, as if it is not possible to fix a broken glass. However, by picking up the pieces of broken glass at least it will prevent you and others from getting hurt by stepping on it accidentally. So when something goes wrong, not to what you have expected to happen, just pick up the pieces, clear up that mess and change the future. We can not fix the past, but we could make a better future, insya Allah.
"...It may be that you hate something when it is good for you and it may be that you love something when it is bad for you. God knows and you do not know." (Surah al-Baqarah: 216)
And the first reaction of calamity for a mukmin is;
inallahi wa inna ilahi raji’un
We belongs to Allah and verily we will return to Allah
